What are the advantages of each type of hot melt adhesive?

EVA-based hot melt adhesives

Pressure sensitive hot melt adhesives (synthetic rubber)

Pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) are a distinct category of adhesives that adhere to a variety of surfaces without having to use anything more than pressure.

Pressure sensitive adhesives offer many advantages. Application can be easily automated and generally does not require complex equipment. They can save time when used in assembly because they don’t require long processing or curing times.

In addition, due to their immediate adhesion, manufacturing procedures are faster, resulting in significant time and labour savings. Pressure sensitive adhesives eliminate the need for screws, rivets, clips or drill holes, which prevents cracks and corrosion and improves the integrity and appearance of the final product. Finally, pressure sensitive adhesives can also promote thermal and acoustic insulation and limit vibrations.
